Main Locations We Visit

Two Jack Lake Banff At First Light Sunrise

Two Jack Lake

Two Jack Lake is our first stop and arguably the best place in Banff National Park to photograph sunrise. With its towering Ten Peaks that hug the shoreline of the turquoise blue glacial waters of the lake, this place is quintessential Canadian Rockies.

The drive to Moraine is about 1.5 hours from Canmore, 1 hour from Banff and 30 minutes from Lake Louise. Upon arrival to the Moraine Lake parking lot, your guide(s) will give you a quick run down on camera settings and get everyone set up with tripods and a hot drink. Your guide(s) will then lead you up to the Moraine to get set up with a perfect composition for sunrise.

Vermilion Lakes Sunrise Banff Landscape Photography Tours

Vermilion Lakes

Typically Vermilion Lakes will be your next location after Two Jack Lake. Vermilion Lakes is located on the outskirts of the Town of Banff.  is one of the most visually and biodiverse areas in Banff National Park. The lakes are dominated by the visually impressive Mt Rundle that towers over the town east of the lakes, this area makes for fantastic early morning landscape images with cattails and winding creeks in the foreground, making for interesting compositions.

Best photography experience!

Max was an amazing guide and took us to some excellent venues; his tips were so valuable and were very helpful! We went to many different spots around Banff even after sunrise and spotted a few mountain goats as well! This was a trip highlight for me! So worth the time and money!!
