This is a hands-on, in-the-field, landscape photography tour that takes you away from the typical. Experience first-hand, the breathtaking wonder of Banff’s most sought-after locations – in the solitude of sunrise.
It’s early morning. The sky is in pure darkness, and you’re surrounded by stillness. You, alongside your local photographer guide, are out on-location to shoot one of nature’s greatest shows: sunrise.
Before Banff stirs and the day begins, your camera gear is set-up and ready-to-go. You’re waiting for it to begin. You’re taking in the feeling of wonder and wilderness of the Park; the feeling of enjoying this place in isolation. This is where light and landscapes converge, and you’re ready to capture it in all its glory.
Take in the icons of Banff National Park as many don’t see them. Focus in on the first light illuminations that grace the peaks of this place’s greats. Capture the world-renowned signature lakes, mountains and print-worthy viewpoints from a fresh perspective. No crowds, no lining up to frame a viewpoint or get that shot.
Your guide’s know-how and extensive experience of the Park will show you the way, giving you absolute peace of mind that you’re at the very best location and primed to get the photo result you’re striving for. All this, while taking in your serene surroundings – making a memorable experience for any photographer.

This landscape photography tour is suitable for anyone over the age of 16 who has an interest in landscape photography. It doesn't matter if you have an iPhone or a $10,000 camera. This tour will get you to the right locations at the right time in order to capture the best light Banff has to offer!
No problem! Our photography tours are suitable for any skill level. Our professional photography guides can help you get the best picture possible with whatever camera you have or level of comfort you have with the camera.
Fortunately, Banff National Park has the best landscape photography opportunities very close to where we will park the tour van. We do not need to hike very far from the tour van to get amazing landscape images!
No worries! We have tripods available for you to use during the session if you wish to use one. Although we highly recommend using a tripod, it is not necessary. If you are curious about how to best use a tripod, our photography guides can help you set up your tripod and instruct on how to best utilize one.
We want to make sure we are at our first location with enough time for you to get set up and be ready to photograph sunrise. Sunrise is the most spectacular time to photograph in Banff and we don't want you to miss it!
Because our landscape photography tours start so early, we understand that you may not have had breakfast already. After a couple hours, you may be wanting some breakfast. Although we won't have a hot breakfast for you, we will certainly have good coffee and some wonderfully made local breakfast snacks to keep you tied over till we get you back to your hotel.
