Who is this workshop suitable for?
Our private guided landscape photography workshops are perfect for those who would like one-on-one landscape photography instruction while on location. We will tailor your instruction based on what your current level of understanding is and establish areas of improvement. From the best settings for your camera, mastering exposure and how to compose landscape images in the Canadian Rockies, we will help take your landscape photography to the next level.
I'm not an experienced photographer. Does this matter?
No problem! Our private landscape photography workshops are suitable for any skill level. We can help you get the best picture possible with whatever camera you have or level of comfort you have with the camera.
Will we be doing lots of hiking?
Fortunately, Banff National Park has the best landscape photography opportunities very close to the road. We do not need to hike very far from the tour van to get amazing landscape images!
I won't have a tripod with me. Is that OK?
No worries! We have tripods available for you to use during the session if you wish to use one.
What time does your workshops start?
In general, we love starting our workshops about an hour and a half before sunrise. Sunrise is one of the best times to photograph in the Banff area. It is also a great time of day to avoid the crowds and see wildlife. However, we are happy to start a workshop at any time in the day. We also can do night photography to capture the night sky and potentially see Aurora!
Do you offer anything to eat?
Because our landscape photography startworkshops generally start early, we understand that you may not have had breakfast already. Although we won't have a hot breakfast for you, we will certainly have good coffee and some breakfast snack bars to keep you tied over till we get you back to your hotel.
What should I wear on this tour?
The Canadian Rockies is a fairly arid climate at a high altitude. Because of this, even in summer it can be quite chilly first thing in the morning. Here are some recommendations:
- Warm sweater
- Hiking shoes with sturdy sole and tread
- Spring Jacket/Rain coat
