No! This photography workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Mark Unrau will help you get the best possible picture with whatever camera you have and with whatever level of comfort or skill you have with.
Fortunately, Banff National Park has excellent landscape photography opportunities very close to where we will park the tour van. We don't need to hike very far from the tour van to get amazing landscape images!
Mark provides all transportation and will pick you up from your accommodation either in the Town of Banff, Canmore or the village of Lake Louise.
No worries! Mark will have a tripod available for you to use during the session if you wish to use one.
Everyone who joins Rocky Mountain Photo Adventures on a group tour must pay. Alternatively, if someone would like to join but not participate in the photography, we have private guided tours where we do not charge a fee for a tag along. Please see details here
We sure do! While we recommend you have a bite to eat before your pick up, we always have hot drinks and snack bars available.
Winter: The Canadian Rockies temperatures can vary drastically throughout the day and week. for example, we could have temperatures hovering around -35C for a week and then the next day it could rise above zero. We recommend you travel with a warm down parka and snow pants with warm winter boots and gloves.
Summer: In the summer, you can expect morning temperatures to routinely hover around 5 to 8 C and climb up to 25 C during the day. Temperatures will vary drastically depending on your elevation and town you are residing in.
We think almost any weather can be great for photography! Our policy is to head out no matter what, unless of course the weather poses a threat to our safety and our camera's safety. If the weather is forecast as such, we are happy to reschedule the booking to the next available day or any date that is available.
Knowing the amazing photogenic places in Banff area I was looking for an instructor to help me to reveal the beauty of the surrounding nature using the photography. Doing my research on internet I have ended up on finding Rocky Mountain Photo Adventures and Mark. Coming from France with different knowledges in photography my husband and I spent 5 days private guiding session with Mark. For this awesome experience, we would like to highlight the competence of Mark and his great professionalism and sense of service. We, my husband and I, have learned so much. The post-processing lessons were also very informative. Everything was great and above all the effort provided by Mark to allow us to have the best photos in fonction of the spot location and the surrounding elements of the landscape independently of our photography skills and the moment of the day. Simply, we spent such a good time with Mark in incredible spots. Mark has changed our way to do photography to better reveal the natural beauty. We would definitely recommend Mark and Rocky Mountain Photo Adventures to anyone who loves photography, at any skill level.
